FollowersLead™ is a professional institute dedicated to rebalancing the leadership conversation.
Dr. Jill Johnson is an organizational scholar with 26 years of academic program leadership. She holds a doctorate in business administration and a doctorate in educational leadership, along with a masters degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She founded FollowersLead to bring rigorous research and real world consulting to the work of building cultures of trust, employee voice, and ethical followership. Her doctoral research was a rigorous study of how leadership builds a more inclusive workplace,
examining the influence of leadership style on organizational citizenship behavior, the mediating role of workplace discrimination, and the moderating roles of power distance and knowledge sharing. The work was grounded in advanced quantitative methods, including structural equation modeling, measurement model validation, and formal mediation and moderation analysis.

Our Guiding Principles
At FollowersLead™, we believe the future of leadership begins not at the top, but within the individual’s ethical commitment to integrity, courage, and voice. We stand for workplaces and communities where people choose integrity over fear and emotionally intelligent voice over silence, shaping systems that honor both followers and leaders alike.
How FollowersLead™ Can Support You
FollowersLead™ exists to transform that dynamic. We teach that every person holds influence — that leadership begins within the individual’s ethical commitment to courage, empathy, and emotionally intelligent voice. Through education, research, and reflective practice, FollowersLead™ invites people at every level to lead where they stand and help build systems rooted in trust, equity, and shared responsibility.
